Big Skies - Small Towns - Colorado Mountains

During a recent down day between Parabolic Flights with the Zero G Crew, I had a chance to explore and captured these photos. Our road trip took us from Colorado Springs to Fairplay, then to Buena Vista, and back.

We left Colorado Springs later in the morning and headed west. The drive offered expansive views of Colorado’s famous big skies. Each small town along the way had its own character, from the historic streets of Fairplay to the relaxed vibe of Buena Vista. Wandering through these towns, I focused on capturing the details that make each place interesting. From old signs and rustic buildings to the friendly faces of locals, I had fun capturing the mountain vibe.

In Fairplay, the history and mountain backdrops added a timeless quality to the images. The streets and unique character of the town made for some great shots. Moving on to Buena Vista, the landscape changed with the Arkansas River flowing through the valley and the Collegiate Peaks standing tall. The combination of wide skies and rugged mountains made for some stunning scenes.

As the day went on, we headed back to Colorado Springs. The drive back highlighted the Colorado skies, which you seem to be so close to. It was a great way to end a day of exploring and photos. Every time I go to Colorado I say the same thing…I could live here!

Cheers,

Steve
