The Joy of Jeeping

Hey folks, Steve here! Sometimes the best adventures are the ones you don't plan. That's exactly what happened when a few buddies and I decided to take a spontaneous off-road trip from Colorado Springs to Mt. Garfield.
The Start: A Spur-of-the-Moment Decision
The weather was perfect, and we all had the day off. So, we loaded up my Jeep with the basics – some snacks, a couple of cameras, and a whole lot of enthusiasm. Our main goal was to capture the essence of jeeping – the joy of the journey, no matter where it took us. No detailed route plans, just a rough idea of where we were headed.
Leaving Colorado Springs, we hit the dirt roads, quickly transitioning to rugged trails. The Gladiator handled everything with ease – from rocky paths to steep inclines. The further we went, the more breathtaking the scenery became. Towering pines, expansive views of the Rockies, and that crisp mountain air made every mile worthwhile.
The Challenge
Things got interesting when we reached a dry riverbed. The trail map said it was a shortcut, so we decided to descend. As we descended, the trail became more challenging. We kept saying, "Well, we're committed now," each time the terrain got tougher. Eventually, we found ourselves stuck at the bottom, unable to go any further. The riverbed was a mix of large rocks, trees, and deep crevices, and it became clear we had to turn back, no small task! Turning around wasn't easy. We had to drive back up the steep, rocky, seemingly impossible riverbed we had just descended. It was a heart-pounding experience. With some strategic maneuvering, horrendous grinding, metal-on-rock sounds, and noises that seemed like a death blow to any vehicle, the Gladiator’s incredible off-road capabilities got us through. It was one of those moments where you truly appreciate what your vehicle can do. The fact that the Jeep was unharmed in any way was a true testament to its capabilities. I stood shocked and awed – I now need a Jeep in my life!
Back to Safety
After making it back up the riverbed, we retraced our path to Colorado Springs. The drive back was smoother, and we made it home just as the sun was setting. The first thing we did? Cracked open a few cold beers and toasted to an unforgettable day. Also, the Florida Panthers won the Stanley Cup!
Final Thoughts
Next time I feel the call of the wild, I’ll hop in a Jeep, hit the trails, and take some photos! If I can do that for you, it’d be my pleasure!!
Cheers to the next adventure,
Steve
Big Skies - Small Towns - Colorado Mountains

During a recent down day between Parabolic Flights with the Zero G Crew, I had a chance to explore and captured these photos. Our road trip took us from Colorado Springs to Fairplay, then to Buena Vista, and back.
We left Colorado Springs later in the morning and headed west. The drive offered expansive views of Colorado’s famous big skies. Each small town along the way had its own character, from the historic streets of Fairplay to the relaxed vibe of Buena Vista. Wandering through these towns, I focused on capturing the details that make each place interesting. From old signs and rustic buildings to the friendly faces of locals, I had fun capturing the mountain vibe.
In Fairplay, the history and mountain backdrops added a timeless quality to the images. The streets and unique character of the town made for some great shots. Moving on to Buena Vista, the landscape changed with the Arkansas River flowing through the valley and the Collegiate Peaks standing tall. The combination of wide skies and rugged mountains made for some stunning scenes.
As the day went on, we headed back to Colorado Springs. The drive back highlighted the Colorado skies, which you seem to be so close to. It was a great way to end a day of exploring and photos. Every time I go to Colorado I say the same thing…I could live here!
Cheers,
Steve

Capturing Wellness: A Photoshoot with Evolved Science in Naples, Florida
I recently had the pleasure of doing a photoshoot for Evolved Science in Naples, Florida. This shoot was a collaborative effort with an amazing crew. Styling was handled by Cristina Forestieri, and Valerie Girard took care of hair and makeup. The production was expertly managed by Girvin Pictures, with Kerry Girvin, Anne Girvin, and Nikki Borges ensuring everything ran smoothly. Together, we aimed to capture the essence of Evolved Science’s holistic approach to healthcare.
Setting the Scene
We started the day by capturing the exterior of the Evolved Science building while the sun was still low in the sky before moving indoors.
Inside Look
Stepping inside, we focused on the entrance and lobby areas first. The light inside was absolutely beautiful, streaming through large windows and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere in the offices. It was the perfect setting to showcase the welcoming vibe of Evolved Science. We took shots of the friendly administrative staff assisting patients, capturing the genuine smiles and upbeat energy that define the space.
Fun with the Team
One of the highlights of the shoot was working with the Evolved Science team. The staff was not only professional but also incredibly fun to be around. Their kindness and dedication to patient care were evident in every interaction. We captured candid moments of the team working together, laughing, and genuinely enjoying their work. These shots are sure to resonate with patients looking for a healthcare provider that feels like a community.
Portraits of Dr. Jackie
An important part of the shoot was dedicated to Dr. Jackie Brunetti, the heart and soul of Evolved Science. We photographed her in various settings and outfits, from candid moments at her desk to interactions with patients and staff. Her passion and dedication to patient care shone through in every frame, and it was important to convey her approachable yet professional demeanor.
Final Reflections
This photoshoot was a wonderful experience with great people. I’m excited to see how the photos will be used to enhance their website and social media presence, showcasing their unique approach to wellness.

Capturing Caring Moments with Aquaphor
A while back, I had the incredible opportunity to work on a photo shoot for Aquaphor that was super special. We aimed to create a versatile library of images that could be used for multiple scenarios, showcasing those tender, everyday moments that highlight the bond between parents and their children.
The Shoot
The shoot spanned three days and took place at two beautiful locations in Miami. We started at a charming house with a pool, perfect for those relaxed, sunny moments that embody Miami's spirit. The second location was a lush park, offering a vibrant, natural backdrop that highlighted the joy and spontaneity of family life.
The Team
I had the pleasure of working with a fantastic team of professionals. From the creative directors to the makeup artists and stylists, everyone brought their A-game, ensuring every shot was perfect. The talent, both adults and children, were absolute stars. Their genuine interactions and natural expressions made my job so much easier and the photos truly special.
The Experience
One of the best parts of this shoot was how wonderful the crew, cast, and client were. The positive energy and camaraderie on set made for a really fun and memorable week. Everyone was incredibly nice and supportive, which created a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. This allowed us to capture not just posed shots, but real snippets of family life that tell a story of care, love, and gratitude.
The Results
The photos turned out beautifully, capturing the essence of what Aquaphor stands for: protection, care, and the simple, loving moments . The campaign is being shared throughout the coming months. In the end, this shoot was a reminder of why I love what I do. Feel free to check out the shots from this amazing shoot in my portfolio. If you have any questions or want to discuss a potential project, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Flexin' and Dancin'

I had the pleasure of flexin’ with the Osteo Biflex crew recently and holy-moly did we had a good time. We shot stills and video for social media with an incredible crew and cast. The talent really got into it, with lots of tricky knee bends and flexing. This was one of those assignments in healthcare where we got to live it up and have some fun while making great images. As always, the images are only as great as the people in them, and these folks were fantastic.
Do you have something fantastic that needs to be photographed, I’d love to be your go to photographer!

Florida Blue

New York Agency FCB, for Florida Blue requested a series of still images to be photographed alongside a video team from the amazing Knucklehead TV. The images needed to illustrate real life authentic situations that would speak to their different audiences. We worked with a variety of talent to highlight everyday people, from a mom, to an ride-share driver, to a pizza chef. Florida Blue was hoping to bring new imagery into their library that can be leveraged across their various marketing intiatives.
Having worked with large video crew’s before was a huge help, so working together was easy and being able to move in between takes for photography worked really well. The talent brought their A game and we were able to create some fantastic images.

Simply Healthcare
Sometimes we get to work on projects that exude so much joy that it’s easy to get loads of great images. This project for Simply Healthcare was a project that made everyone happy!
We shot this in studio and comp’ed in the backgrounds, which I shot separatley. Working with the talent was amazing, especially since they had all recently shot the video comercial. The main challenge for this job was the turn around time, I was fortunate to work with the Amazing team at Imagen Marketing Agency, the stellar producer Jennifer Friedman and many other fantastic people. Despite the short turnaround time, we delivered on time and on budget with a tight deadline.
It’s been amazing seeing the images all over Florida, on buses and billboards.

The Making of a Caterpillar

Hint: it takes people to make a Caterpillar.

I am still buzzing from my recent adventure at the Caterpillar plant in Monterrey, Mexico. Let me tell you, it was a mind-blowing experience, filled with jaw-dropping sights and endless photo opportunities.
Walking through those gates, I was greeted by the sight of massive machinery parts being crafted with precision. Sparks flew as skilled workers welded giant parts together. It was like stepping into a photographer's paradise.
Every corner I turned revealed a new scene worthy of capturing. From the bustling workshops to the meticulous assembly lines, there was no shortage of incredible images waiting to be captured. I was like a kid in a candy store, except instead of sweets, it was the raw power of manufacturing on display.
I could have spent days exploring every nook and cranny of the plant, camera in hand. Everywhere I looked, there was something fascinating to photograph, from the intricate details of the machinery to the dedication etched on the faces of the workers.
Also it’s Mexico so there was Tequila and my favorite crew involved!

Hunting for Bees before the Fall leaves

On the hunt for Beeline busses
I was on the hunt last week for the perfect fall photo of a Westchester County and its Beeline buses against New York’s autumn backdrop before the foliage disappeared. Conditions were ripe - oak and maple leaves at peak colors before they dropped and ideal sunrise lighting. Much coffee was drunk as I staked out spots along Beeline routes, timed commuter buses, and snapped shots as they rounded the bend canopied by oranges, reds and yellows.
I'm sharing some of my favorite shots from the successful photo expedition here. Let me know if you’d like me shoot your fleet or staff at anytime of year!

Clean Mountain Air & Zero Emissions on a Double Decker Bus

I want to share a recent job in the greater Los Angeles area for (long term and amazing client) Transdev. I'm a big fan of electric vehicles, and I'm excited to share my images of their cool new BEB’s (battery electric buses).
During my visit to Foothills Transit, I had the opportunity to photograph their fleet of electric double-decker buses, each with an impressive 250-mile range. These buses are a game-changer in the world of sustainable transportation.
I woke up at 4 am to capture the “rollout” at sunrise. I stood exposed in the predawn hustle and bustle as dozens of buses left the yard all around me while I shot long exposure images in the near dark, and it was totally worth it.
But it's not just about the buses; I was truly impressed by the employees at the facility. Their dedication and passion for what they do are evident in every aspect of their work. They are the driving force behind Foothills Transit and their parent company Transdev's mission to further the use of zero-emission buses. It's not just a job for them; it's a mission to make our environment cleaner and more sustainable.
I'm chuffed to share the photos with you, and hopefully, they capture the spirit of innovation and environmental responsibility that Transdev strives for. It was a fruitful trip in every sense, and I'm excited to see the positive impact these buses and the people behind them will have on the future of transportation.
Looking forward to catching up soon!
All Over FPL's Website and Beyond
Often times some projects take awhile to get the images into circulation. So it’s pretty great to see all the ways that FPL (Florida Power and Light) has used the images I’ve created for them over several projects.
I’ve photographed their employees and consumers, and I love seeing these smiling faces all of their website and other marketing collateral.

Billboard on I95
What a great surprise it was to drive past this on I-95. I think this has to be the most massive I have ever seen any of my photos.
National TV!
What I like to call my Mike Wazowski moment on the Drew Barrymore show.
Personal Project - Sweltering Savannah

I'm strolling Savannah's backstreets, heat and history blending. Camera clicks capture hidden beauty in narrow alleys. Humidity's intense, so I duck into a pub – a cool refuge. A crisp beer soothes as locals chat. Back outside, black and white mode amplifies contrasts: sunlit walls against shaded corners. Each shot's a story of sweltering charm and cool respites. Backstreets unveil layers, a visual tale of a hot day cooled by a cold brew. Keep wandering, keep capturing, my friend!
Real People, White background, One light

White paper, an Umbrella and One light…
One of the best parts of my job has always been engaging with real people during shoots. Capturing those authentic moments with one light and a white background keeps it simple, also no retouching!
After the click of the camera, there's the excitement of revealing the images. Seeing their faces light up as they connect with their own essence on screen – that's where the real magic happens. It's pure joy to share those genuine reactions and celebrate the uniqueness of each person I photograph.
So, there you have it, folks. It's not just about taking pictures; it's about sharing moments, laughter, and stories. Photography is my way of connecting with the world, one person at a time. Cheers to the fun and fulfillment it brings!
When every shot is a winner
I recently photographed Mario Chiesa and Luis Buzzio for a cheeky Toyota Commercial.
After we got the serious things out of the way we decided to have some fun. Get ready for a masterclass in facial expressions! Both of these guys have more range than a Swiss army knife. Seriously, they went from "confused puppy" to "sly fox" in the blink of an eye. Mario’s eyebrows deserve their own zip code because they have a life of their own.
Being able to bring out a variety of facial expressions with people I’m photographing is always a challenge so it was extra fun to work with professional actors and see what they could pull off.
The next time the emoji collection is updated, they should definitely consider these guys.
Ever Brighter Campaign with University of Miami
Touring the Medical Campus
It’s been an amazing few months working with the University of Miami to complete a library of images for the Ever Brighter Campaign. We’ve been all over the campaus, and completed the project giving the medical campus some attention.
We photographed their state of the art facilities including MRI labs, physical therapy labs, and hospital training rooms. The staff and students were amazing to work with. I really enjoyed meeting everyone and learning about all the projects they were working on.
Enjoy the gallery it’s only a fraction of what we completed for the project. University of Miami is thrilled with the library we were able to create and we’ve already spotted images out in the wild.
Adobe Generative fill - Playing with the new norm - Goodbye retouchers??
Today I was playing with Adobe Generative Fill. This tool, powered by Adobe Firefly, takes photo editing and art creation to a whole new level. It uses generative AI technology to fill areas in an image based on a text prompt you provide. You can easily add, remove, or replace parts of an image without damaging the original. The possibilities are virtually endless.
You can change backgrounds, add objects, remove blemishes, and even extend your image with realistic new bounds. Accessing the Generative Fill tool is available through the Adobe Firefly website for subscribers, and it's also integrated into the Photoshop Beta app.
My Very first try, very commercial
I started with a typical scenario. One where I need to add a background to an image that what shot on a white seeemless. Also of note, this is my first attempt (literally with no other training other than the video above.)
Before…
After…
Here’s what I actually did…
Apply B/W Curve in Capture One >>Open image in Photoshop >> Add 16:9 crop >> Select Subject >> Inverse Selection >> Generative fill prompt “Add a bright background like US’s Joshua Tree album” >> Add Noise (for effect) >>
Save
Total time 3 minutes!!!
Then I went…..well a little nuts:
From this:
To this awesomeness, in no time at all!
I followed a simple workflow to accomplish this task. Firstly, I used the lasso tool to select a specific section of the image. Then, I entered random, funny, or weird prompts to see what the AI would generate in response. From the generated results, I chose my favorite option and proceeded. The selection process itself was quite time-consuming as the AI's outputs could range from hilarious to completely unrelated or bizarre.
However, amidst the amusing and off-topic suggestions, I found some pretty good options. As you can see, even with my sense of humor running wild like an alien invasion, I was able to create content to my heart's content!
Wow! Adobe Generative Fill….All I can say is wow and I am glad that I am not a professional conceptual retoucher!
Take a look at the video Phlearn made about it. This is what peaked my interest to start playing.

Jorge Ramos and Olga Tañón - Algo Personal

I recently travelled to Central Florida on a whirlwind adventure to photograph Jorje Ramos and Olga Tañón for their TV show, "Algo Personal," on Vix.
Converting a cinema room into a studio was no small feat, but with the help of the amazing Eduardo Bono of TelevisaUnivision we made it happen. With limited time, we swiftly rearranged furniture, adjusted lighting, and set up my equipment.
Positioned hilariously in the corridor adjacent to the cinema room, I embraced the unconventional. Working with Jorje and Olga was an absolute pleasure. Their charm and professionalism making the limited timeframe a breeze.
Enjoy!
